Hello, this is Max.

Initially, I thought it would be hard to find good resources from authentic materials (articles, podcasts and video) to find words and phrases related to specific topic. Now I think it’s possible. Take a look at my first blog post about Travel Vocabulary.

Today let’s dive into Technology. IELTS test takers are quite frequently asked questions  related to Technology  in IELTS speaking test.

What you will find in this article:

  • Common questions from Part1,2 and 3 of speaking test.
  • Collocations, words and phrases that will help you to talk about food and diet.
  • How other people tell stories related to technology.
  • Links to useful materials which you can use to read articles, listen podcasts and watch video about technology.

Part 1 Sample Questions

  • Have you ever taken a course to improve your computer skills?

  • What do you mainly use a computer for?
  • Did you learn how to use a computer at school?

Part 2: Cue Card

Talk about some technology that you have started using fairly recently. You should say:

  • What it is and what it does
  • How it makes life better or easier
  • How it is different to other similar technology

And say whether you think you will still be using it in ten years’ time or not, and why

Keep on Practicing

In this blogpost I showed you just a few samples of where you can find materials to improve your vocabulary and use it when speaking about Technology. Obviously,  there are tons of  free and interesting resources about Technology on the Internet.

Now it’s your turn. Start from small and go further. Use  information from  my article: read texts, listen podcasts and watch videos. Then make  a bit of research yourself. The more information you consume the more words and phrase you will remember.
